There is something inherently calming about watching two performers who anticipate each others every move and word. Open Harp Surgery exude confidence forged in the heat of battle from the earliest beginnings of impromptu renditions in unlikely locations to this, a highly polished performance, which although it has all the hallmarks of time served blues men, still manages to ignite that spark of inspiration and harness the spontaneity that can lead the set in any direction. It's a performance that relaxes the audience on the one hand and creates an air of anticipated expectancy in the other. Whether that be Groom's guitar cracking (unfortunately literally) or Feist's audience improvised Blues.
